Ending 45, Starting 46

I had to take a few extra days to give myself some reflective distance before spitting out a blog. Every once in awhile I think before I speak... or, write in this case. I know this is MY blog and that I am free to babble about whatever I damn well please. But, I also know that some of the country is fired up right now. It's sad but that gives me pause.

Let's put it in perspective, shan't we? I'm not using any memes or silly photos in this blog entry. Something is definitely amiss.

A family relation suddenly purchased several handguns. Now, this family don't live in a crime-ridden neighborhood or town. They don't live in a place of unrest. They are basically surrounded by a population of 97% while people. They don't have drive-by shootings or looting or marches or anything. So, why they went out and purchased a bunch of handguns is beyond me....

I'm not talking one gun--I'm talking about several guns. Why have one in the house if you don't also have one in the glove compartment and in your purse and at work and on your person? At least they went to a firing range to try out shooting a gun before accidentally shooting themselves.

I am NOT against guns, so don't start. This isn't technically about guns. It's about right-right-off-the-charts-right-wing white people who are buying guns because....

"THEY.
ARE.
COMING."

I don't know who "they" is, but I can guess. It ain't a UPS delivery of an Amazon package, that's for sure. I have heard time and time again that "THEY ARE COMING" and that they are going to be ready when they arrive. I've also heard that we'll "know the truth" soon, which I figure is the second part of the THEY ARE COMING and now that they have guns they are ready for them to arrive.

THEY.
ARE.
READY.

Here's a scary statement: I'm finding Focks News less and less terrifying. Why? Because when matched "against" the beliefs of the "They are coming" people, Focks News looks like Libtard Headquarters. (It's also fun to see how they are obsessed with AOC, but that's just a bonus.) I'm not saying I'm a Focks New fan. I'm saying the QAnon crowd makes them look mainstream.

Side note: The wife and I have been watching various news outlets and reading from various media resources, as we're trying to find out what is REALLY happening in our country. We're aiming for the middle, hopefully-least-biased information. It's tough these days to find it. Both sides need to get a grip.

I could have said all the above without reflective distance. This multi-guns-they-are-coming thing is old news in the family. The reflective distance was needed due to the what I am calling the "Coup on the Capitol." Why do I call the current political strife in such a manner?

Because that's what it is to me

For those who believe 45 is "the greatest president" we've ever had (and, the gun-toting relatives say this over and over again), my view will not match yours. Those who subscribe to belief that 45 "is defending the truth and upholding values" (yes, that's a direct family quote) are not going to listen to my opinion. For those who believe Election Fraud was the reason there will be a presidential change and new politicians in Georgia, you might as well stop reading here...

...stop reading because nothing I write will be of interest to you. In fact, it will just piss you off, fuel you up and have you reaching for your Bibles.

Don't forget to bitch about Hillary's emails while you're reaching for your guns, copy of Constitution and Bible.

It's my blog, my opinion.

What transpired on that hateful Electoral College Day was nothing short of a well-armed militia in an attempt to overthrow the government, or at least hang the VP and overturn the "stolen vote."

It wasn't patriotic.
It wasn't freedom of speech.
It wasn't a peaceful protest.
It wasn't the "they are coming" people.

It WAS they "they are coming" believers....

...it was nothing short was a well-armed militia trying to overturn the government by storming sacred ground, taking hostages and taking over, fueled by the madness of a wanna-be dictator.

Now, some say it was a peaceful protest that was ruined by some Antifa-fueled nonsense.

To that, I say: piss on that shit.

That wasn't Antifa.
That was a bunch of hateful, vengeful, fearful, racist, testosterone-laced, tiny-penis white people storming the Capitol in attempt to take back a vote that never needed taking back.

(I do believe there were peaceful protesters in the crowd who got lumped in with those storming the Capitol. So, don't hear that I think otherwise. I'm still confused by Confederate Flag rhetoric and I don't understand the skewed view of the world right now, but I do know there had to be some clueless-to-the-coup cause mixed in.)

Let's make it clear: the "they are coming" crowd didn't buy guns to protect themselves from the "Coup Crowd." No, those new-gun people can be lumped in WITH the Coup Crowd because they honestly believe the election WAS stolen. They believe the loser was the winner. They find themselves buying guns to protect themselves from the boogiemen who are definitely on the way and definitely out to get them.

I feel badly for "real" Republicans because these asswipes aren't Republicans. The "Coup Crowd" are Republicans in sheep's clothing... or, more honestly? Sheep in KKK clothing.

I also, shudder, feel kinda-sorta bad for the VP, as he was doing his actual job and yet he was in danger of being hung. WTF, people?

By the way, the THEY ARE COMING crowd think the coup was on the Democrat "side." Heck, Focks News thinks it's a coup on by the Democrats. The Left is throwing a socialist coup against democracy. The Obama election was a coup. The Biden Brigade is a coup.

That just shows you how messed up the country is. We can't even decide who is and isn't staging a coup.

So, back to the guns. Really? It's about "the blacks" coming to get you. It's about socialists. It's about AOC. The boogiemen are coming to take your guns, your lives, your houses, your Christianity, your reality. It's a bout the Libtards staging a coup, started by that Muslim Obama and cemented by Pelosi and gang. It's about the hate, looting and terror seeping out of the BLM folks and into your white neighborhoods. It's about losing power and control--and money.

During a recent family pre-meal prayer (grace), the head of the gun-toting-they-are-coming brigade literally threw in a "We will soon see the truth" before saying Amen. Jesus was probably like, "now what the hell is he talking about?" I suppose Jesus then thought, "Dammit, don't you say one more thing and if you use my words of "the truth will set you free (John 8:32)," I will bitch-slap you from Genesis right to the end of Revelation."

I have no doubt Jesus then rolled his eyes. He shook his head--you call that saying grace?--then probably muttered, "if you were talking about ME coming back, that'd be better--but, THEY are coming? Y'all are pissing me off. The truth will set you free--yeah, social media won't set you free because their ain't no truth coming forth from that well. I said love thy neighbor. That means the black ones and the Muslim ones, and the libtard ones, too." His final words after that grace? "Never mind. You don't have any black or Muslim or socialist neighbors. Gotta go save you from your sins--bye, Felicia."

And this is why I needed some time for reflective distance. I'm still emotional. I'm still stymied. I'm still full of vim and vigor. I'm still pissed every time Antifa is blamed for storming the Capitol. I'm still upset that anyone would find anything remotely okay with what transpired. And, I'm certainly less than entertained that I am unable to escape the ridiculousness oozing forth from those I know.

They are coming.

Yes, they are coming. I hope they are bringing ice cream.
