Revolutionary, Indeed

This entry is even LESS redeeming in value than usual, but I had so many laughs on Friday morning, I can't help myself but to post this shit.

On this great country's birthday
, Forty-five, blotus extraordinaire, ensured the world that the good ol' US of A won the Revolutionary War by manning the air.... in 1775.

You can't make this crap up.

“Our army manned the air, it rammed the ramparts, it took over the airports, it did everything it had to do, and at Fort McHenry, under the rocket’s red glare, it had nothing but victory.”

The Internet blew up in glee. The tweets tagged #RevolutionaryWarAirportStories and #RevolutionaryWarAirport were delightfully worth every minute spent reading them. I spend a ridiculous amount of time on social media... but Friday I might have broken my own record. I'm not kidding when I say I laughed through the ENTIRE day.

I figure Hillary's emails--or, at least the Democrats--will be blamed for this snafu, but until then, here's just a taste of what was one of the best days EVER on the Internet:

“Listen, my children, and you shall hear, of the midnight flight delay of Paul Revere.”

I’ve seen @HamiltonMusical 4 times and I have to admit, I still tear up at the airport scene.

"Betsy Ross and I joined the Mile-High Club on the red eye to Boston."  --Ben Franklin

"Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson, please pick up the white courtesy horn."
A favorite: Customs: Anything to declare? Colonist: Just independence, bitches.

Dear James, We ran out of covfefe near a fortnight ago. We raided the planes’ hospitality carts to no avail. The Redcoats had diamond status and entered the jetway before us. I fear the Dunkin’ at Gate 35B has been overrun. We are at a disadvantage.

As a finale, I leave you with this collage I created from the FB memes. Trust me, there is a lot more fodder than this humble blog can share.

And remember: One if by Land, Two if by Sea, Three if by Gate C.
